I am not a grease monkey, but can get through mechanical procedures if they're not too complicated. How hard is it to replace an alternator on a 91 Honda Civic HB? Can anyone walk me through this? Is there a site online that has illustrations on the procedure? Thanks for your help.

I recently put in a new alternator when I noticed that my car was living on the battery and the alternator was dead or malfunctioning. The symptoms I had were the Lights were dim then became very dim, light from time became very dim to almost nothing, power lost as I traveld from 2-5 miles, Turn signals fading as usage required, hard start and hesitation when starting until you put gas to it. I had this mechanic do it for me, not nowing if he fully charged the battery first or not. When I as it not hard but fair I hear a buzz sound from the key ignition area. Also now my time(clock) lights have become very dim to almost nothing whe ni have the headlights on. When I turn off the head lights the clock becomes very bright?? The Rpm are also acting funny like droping from 1 to 500ish, alwways scareing me when I'm at a l ight or traffic. Respond back asap if possible as I've had many problems with this vehicle now. It's a 91 honda civic hb si
