Hi there - my wee puppy (6 months, bichon frise) has started being sick most mornings with white froth. This has only started from Sunday and till now Friday. We have taken him to the vet twice now and both times they gave him an anti sickness jag and also an anti biotic jag which perks him up and stops the sickness. Then when the sickness jag wears off he is sick again with white froth again but only in the morning. The vet said that his tummy is also sore when he touches it.

My boss said this also happened with her puppy and it was too much acid in his tummy and by giving him a block of cheese most days it was resolved.

Can anyone help as really worried about him.

Thanks - Joanne

PS: He is eating his food OK and also drinking plus is doing his toilet fine too. He wasn't eating at the start if the week or drinking and I had to syringe feed him water but now he seems to be drinking by himself and also picking at his food but still eating. HELP please.

You should always follow the advice from your vet. We can't diagnose your dog, but we may be able to offer some helpful tips. Always make sure to consult your vet before trying any home remedy.

It does sound like it could be indigestion, for some dogs a change in diet and adding some pro-biotic such as plain yogurt can aide in their discomfort.

Although it sounds like it is a digestive issue I had an issue with my old yorkie when she was a puppy with frothing at the mouth. It freaked me out and I had no idea what it was. It turned out that it was just a really bad case of ear mites. You wouldn't think something that simple could cause that reaction, but animals bodies react very oddly.

I would suggest getting bloodwork done just to be safe. Those types of dogs are prone to pancreatitis.
