I purchase a Home Depot ceiling fan with a fluorescent light. I bought a remote control for the fan but it cannot control the fluorescent light. Any thoughts on how I may reconfigure the wiring to use the remote?

Thanks,
Dan

Some companies make remote kits specifically designed to operate with fluorescent lights. I assume they are more expensive. You can try using a regular remote but you can't use the dim feature, EVER, and sometimes they have some current leakage that causes the bulb to flicker. I wouldn't recommend it.

Another guy was asking about using a remote with fluorescent bulbs, we talked about using a relay. I have no idea if he tried it or how it worked out.

Since this is a brand new Home Depot Lazarro model I'm not interested in giving up on it, even though it does flicker like you thought it might. I'll just ask my electrician to install a separate circuit to control the light via a wall switch.

You can try one of the remotes I mentioned designed for fluorescent lights.

I bought a Florida Everglade Ceiling Fan from www.lightsaver.co.uk . This is actually a low energy fan with a 24w dc motor and being low energy the remote is designed to work with low energy bulbs. Hope this helps!
