Hello

I recelently received this sony handycam dcr-hc26 digital mini cassette camcorder.
Well you can transfer your video to the computer through a USB cable, I have installed the software that was included and my USB streaming works with the video playing on the computer live with picture and sound, but the when you go to capture it (*save it to the computer) it does not have sound on the screen when it is capturing or when you play it back. The camcorder plays the sound just fine though, I have checked the control panel and made sure all the volume controls were on and turned up. My sound works just fine on the other computer related things I do. I was told by a friend to check the device drivers for sound playback and it should say USB media device, but it does not, it says USB Media device for recording though. I have contacted Sony and they do not have a update for this driver and they told me to try it on another computer, I did and the same result.

What can I do or check to retify this situation? I am just missing my sound when I am and after I capture the video on the computer. Regular USB streaming works fine though.

Can you help>?:)

Have you checked the camcorder menu and ensured that the 'USB Streaming' option, is ON?
