I have a 12 place setting of Noritake China that is white with gold trim. I have been told this is pre World War II. It has all the serving dishes etc included. It is in excellent condition but is missing 1 coffee cup. What would you estimate the value to be?

Noritake can help you identify the pattern if you send a photo of the pattern and the stamp on the back of the dinner plates to [email protected]. We do not provide appraisals of items, but we do offer a guide to finding out the estimated value of your Noritake pieces here: http://noritakechina.com/appraisals.htm

If you go to Replacements.com you should be able to find your Noritake pattern. If it does not have a name on the back of the pieces, as mine did not, you have to search their picture gallery of numbered patterns. IF they have pieces for sale you can get an idea of a retail value for insurance purposes. Otherwise, I have seen prewar sets for as little as $400-500 and as much as $2,000 depending on patterns and availability. If your set is rare and no pieces are for sale, I'd guess a higher value.
