It's nearly impossible to say, however, due to your past history, you do have a higher risk of another miscarriage.

Are you seeing a high risk OB?

No my doctor hasn't recommended me to anyone. I feel fine I've had no bleeding or cramps just worrying about it all time had scan at 9weeks 4 days heartbeat was strong. I'm not showing yet but I'm chubby. This normal?

All sounds fine at this point.

Yes, it is very normal not to be showing yet. Depending on your body type, you may not show until approximately 20 weeks gestation. You also may not feel any fluttering until that point as well.

Well, the 12 week mark is a good one to pass up. Many miscarriages happen before this time, but just as many happen later in pregnancy as well.

It sounds, from what you have said, that all is going good at this point.

Be sure to rest as often as possible. Take your prenatals (this is very important), eat healthy, stay hydrated and no drinking or smoking.

Only thing I've been told to take is folic acids I got told to stop at 12 weeks so I have. I'm a lot more possitive this time but it still worries me I get little pulling pains down low on left hand side but been told that's normal.

I don't understand why you were told to stop taking the vitamins as 12 weeks. Ideally you should be taking prenatal vitamins for the entire pregnancy.

Yes, those pains are normal. It's called round ligament pain and will most likely increase as your uterus grows and expands.

I'm not sure about where you live. But here in the states you don't need a prescription for the vitamins. Try going to your chemist, it can't hurt.

I'm glad you feel more at ease. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Hi Jess,

It is a common recommendation in the UK to stop taking the folic acid after 12 weeks because of the concern that it may mask a vitamin B12 deficiency. You would need to be having fairly high levels before that becomes a concern.

In the US, the recommendation is to just take a prenatal vitamin, with the folic acid in it, all the way through pregnancy and while breastfeeding.

The benefit of continuing to make sure you have enough folic acid is that it continues to be important throughout pregnancy, especially again in the last trimester when there is a good deal of brain development going on.
If you take a prenatal vitamin, most will have sufficient amounts of folic acid included so the additional may not be necessary.
Pregnacare, for example, has all that you would need and you can get that at someplace like Tesco.
