Hi .
I have a PIII 550 MHz ,384 MB RAM and a 13 GB HDD with Windows XP.
The Problem has started only recently . Whenever I right click on any file it takes ages to open the submenu .Sometimes when I select a file and press the delete button it takes a long time for the delete confirmation (Send to Recycle BIN) dialog to appear . I have recently done a lot of installing and uninstalling of various software .
I think I maybe in need of Disk Defragmenting .Just wanted to get any other suggestions .Otherwise My PC doesn`t hang or anything.

Thanks
Vikram

Hi,
After installing/uninstalling programs and such, it leaves many fragmented files on your hard drive.
Definitely YES, start your computer in Safe Mode (Degrag runs much faster and better than in Normal mode), and Defrag it.
Best wishes,
fredg
PS; Also, turn off the screensaver and wallpaper before Defragging.
