I am almost 7 weeks pregnant. I started bleeding on November 6th, 2010. At this time I was a little over 6 weeks. Went to the ER and they took my blood and said that it came back good. They also did an u/s the one they put inside you, and the on call ultra sound lady said that the baby looked fine, and she even let me hear the heartbeat. She said that it was at 132bpm. They discharged me after that without doing a pelvic exam or anything to find out what could cause the bleeding. I am still bleeding and it is November 9th, 2010. Should I be worried about this or what? I really don't know how I should be reacting. I had a blighted ovum my first pregnancy, so I am a little nervous as to whether I am going to lose this baby or not. I know if I do there is nothing that could be done, but since they told me the baby looks fine and unaffected, it kind of worries me and confuses me to why I am bleeding in the first place.

The ultrasound they did will tell them more than a pelvic exam so that was the way to go with the situation.

Some women do have some spotting or bleeding in early pregnancy. It can be due to the rise in hormones, it can be due to the develpment/attachment of the placenta, etc..

Certainly any bleeding should be brought to your doctor's attention so that they can check on it, and most of the time all is well.

If it increases or you feel any pain, contact them again and even if it doesn't, but just continues, talk to them again to have them give you an explanation of your circumstances.

Thanks for your information. I have an appointment tomorrow with my doctor, so hopefully what I find out will be good news :) I will definitely let them know what is going on.
