Hi I'm looking to tile over an old commercial tile floor that is in good shape. When the home was bought the inspector said that the floor contained asbestos I was looking to apply a layer of thinset over the exsisting tile, then right away install a dietra or hardi backer board to bond to the tile, also shoot 1 inch-1 1/2 concrete nails through the backerboard then thinset ,then tile any recommendations don't want to disturb the asbestos

Asbestos where in the floor, how did he test for asbestos? Any idea when this floor was first put down?

Asbestos tile is very brittle. Driving any kind of nail into it will break the tile up. This will probably give u crunching noise when walking on it . What is floor under tile? Concrete?

No problem. I do have a tendency to error some times. Maybe he will come back and give more info.
