I am interested in having a 3 way transfer switch for 110 v output put into my business, I notice 9 times out of 10 a 110 volts is still available via some outlets during a power failure - with a transfer switch I could keep my server up 90% more without relying on the UPS. I was thinking in terms of having a electrician use a 3 phase square D 15 amp or 20 amp breaker if wire is 12 gauge and go to switch then back to main office plug where computer server is located.
Products like this http://www.aimscorp.net/PWR3AXFER30.htm look interesting but don't mention any certifications - in Canada the product is supposed to be CSA certified or meet certain international approvals to be sold such as I think CE. Aren't similar approvals required in the U.S.
I will check with the site mentioned but am pretty sure I inquired several months ago and they had no approvals. Does anyone know of such light weight 3 way transfer switches with approvals for use.
