My heating loop upstairs will not come on, when I turn the thermostat off or at a low temp setting I can hear the water going through the pipes which led me to believe I had air in the system, when I tried bleeding the air out with the heating loop on I got air but no water out of the system, then when I turned the thermostat off and bled I got water and air. Also, my circulating pump was very hot when I first tried to bleed the system? Any help would be appreciated. It's an oil burning forced hot water 2 loop system and the downstairs works great wondering if it's a circ pump problem. Thanks.

The circ pump can run hot (100 degf or so) and still be O.K. Assuming it's pumping for both loops. Perhaps your system is still air bound and you just still haven't got all air out. Be aware some building systems have been poorly designed and may not have adequate air vent point. You should have an air vent at the highest point in the system to make air purging easy. Hearing unusual water flow noise is indication of air in system. Patience is required to properly vent all air. The volume of the air/water in system may be more than you think (retorically speaking!).
