Does anyone know where (or how) the filter should be placed in a climatrol furnace? I can't figure it out and each time I open the lower panel on my furnace, I notice the filter has been sucked-up to the motor/blower unit. Is this normal and/or is there any problem with just leaving this?

The filter must be the correct size. The correct filter will have a stiff cardboard perimeter with the MFR name, size, etc. printed on the border. Don't fall for the filter that just a piece of filter media that's not stiff enough to remain in place.

Note: some furnaces also have a retainer band that assist holding the filter. All too often I have seen installations that lack a proper place for the filter. Filter box never installed. Hopefully you don't have that.

P.S. You need to have a filter. It prevents mechanical issues with your cooling coil as well as the obvious hygiene function.

Thanks Ivanh. I'm pretty sure this is a "rig" job installation and so it's entirely void of a retainer band, clips, a slot, etc. I've been searching the climatrol manuals thinking that would tell me where it goes, but I see now it should have been the installer who added this. I'm going to have to try to retro-fit something I guess. I've been using standard 16x25x1 sized filters (with cardboard edge).

Thanks again,
Valerie

I found where the filter goes! There's a covered slot within the duct, located about 3 inches just outside where it connects to the furnace. Wahoooo!
