Teri, what breeds are the puppies, and was one introduced into the household before the other ?

They're both Chihuahuas. The 10 month old, we got her when she was 6 weeks and we just brought the 3 month, home. It's a boy. We also have an other 10 month old puppy,Chihuahua/Yorkie mix, but he is wonderful with the new addition. When she is barking at the little puppy, her tail is wagging, but she is running at him and we don't know if she is going to try and bite him. If I sit on the floor and hold the little one and pet her, she'll quit barking. I realize that it will take a few days to adjust, but we were so surprised that she acted this way because she is very sweet and loving. Teri

If her tail is wagging, but she is barking and running at him, I would say that is a sign of playfulness and testing. I don't think she will bite, but even if she nips, it will be a good lesson learned.

I guess, but he just looks like he wants to climb under a blanket or something. We were thinking the same thing about wanting to play, because she does that with the Chi/Yorkie. Update: Bonding between the puppies is improving. Our girl, Bella is not barking as much and the little one, Opie is wagging his tail at her. Thanks for your advice. By the way, my daughter's dream is to visit Canada someday. When I was younger, I lived in Montana, 6 miles from the Canadian border. Beautiful country!

Thanks, glad you got some satisfaction from the pups now. I don't know if you would want to travel here now with the dollar being at par with yours, but yes, over the border from Montana is lovely country.
