Hi I have a ryobi line trimmer that won't start I took it to the repair shop & was told that it was cheaper to buy a new one.It is only 18 months old.I have checked the kill switch that seems o.k.there is no spark I have changed the spark plug & still the same.Got any ideas what I should do next? Regards gary

Gary,
Most people will tell you it's cheaper to buy a new one but double check your kill switch and wiring to the coil or even disconnect it and try to see if you get spark. Your coil will be the next thing to check make sure you have the proper clearance between the fly wheel and the coil . It's to new , check for other safety switches .
Good Luck,

By the info given it sounds as if the electronic coil has failed. Replace it and you should be fine.

Thank0 You,
