We are on septic and the only time it happens is when the toilet is flushed and the only place it makes noise it seems is in the bathtub drain. Now the weird part, if I dump a pail of water down the bathtub, flushing doesn't make the tub gurgle for at least several flushes then it starts again. Everything seems to drain and the septic was emptied a couple of weeks ago. The
Problem seems to be increasing in intensity.

U have a small blockage.
Pour 2 cups vinegar followed by quart of warm water into tub drain and let sit overnight. In morning flush tub drain with 2 gallons of boiling water.
Vinegar is an acid and will break down most oils and hair.
If this does not work, get back to us and we will tell u way how to snake.

You have a blockage but I do not think its in your drain pipe so the vinegar may not be your best fix. I think your vent stack is blocked and the toilet is trying to vent via the tub. Rod from the roof if its safe to get up to the stack. Use enough snake to reach roof top to basement floor plus 20'

Thank all for you suggestions. We're going to tackle them one at a time starting with easiest first.
Will get back to you with the outcome. Most are leading us towards the vent on the roof so far.
