Hi,

Two years ago I had a contractor install an acrylic liner bathtub over an old ceramic tub. To this day, everything looks great except that the corner three shelf unit (which is also made of acrylic) fell off. I was given a lifetime warranty on parts and labor, unfortunately the contractor went out of business.

I'd like to install the shelf back up myself. When I look at the back of the unit, there's a .50" wide gutter that goes around the perimeter that accepts a .50 inch diameter, black colored adhesive rope. Because the gutter is only 3/8 inch deep, the adhesive rope protrudes from the unit and sticks to the acrylic wall of the bathtub liner.

My problem is that I can not locate replacement adhesive rope of this size. I've scoured the web and have asked many workers at Home Depot & Loews for assistance. I even called a Re-bath, an old competitor to the now defunct brand that was installed in my home. No one has heard of such a large diameter adhesive rope.

I'd appreciate it if someone could shed some light as to what this is called and where I can obtain some.

Thank you in advance,

Mark

Go blow the answer box and click on GO ADVANCED. Now look for the small yellow window that looks like an envelop with a black triangle, click it to attach an image
