More information would be helpful.
Are they all from ONE person ?
Is this ISP or webmail (yahoo/hotmail) ?
WHat e-mail client are you using ?
Operating system ?

Sounds like you've been spammed. There are several programs wich stop spam. Search Google for "spam". It will show up. What does the message read (if you have opened it. If you have not opened it, don't open it)

Mark email as spam

Guys, the OP doesn't say this is SPAM at all, so tagging it as such is a very stupid idea.
We have to wait for them to get back and answer my information questions.

Maybe some freak is emailing you via this homepage. (maybe?)

I get this problem as I have a few email account linked to the same inbox, and I often end up accidentally signing up to newsletters with both accounts...

Maybe this might be contributing to the problem?

And yes, I wouldn't mark it straight away as spam.

Have you opened the emails?

To answer all of your questions.

These are my regular emails, and not spam. I keep a copy on the server from my isp, as the emails are downloaded on two other computers. I am using Windows xp.

Finally, I found the easiest fix of all on another chat page. Simply shut down everything, rebooted computer and the problem was gone. Thank you so much for your help.

Can you check if you are receiving multiple copies on the mail server as well? Or is Outlook pulling down the same mail over and over? Is it Outlook or Outlook Express. Are you deleting the mail and finding it show up again?

Scott, it was a joke about vista crashing (windows too) and it often leaves that sort of a message before returning to a blue screen (of doom). But if you want it to go away, report it... sorry, but it was just a joke...

Jokes are fine if they have meaning. I had no clue what you were trying to do with that post. Made so sense at all.
