I asked my employer to let me see a specialist and they approved it and the specialist asked for the c9 which was the approval for the visit, I asked the nurse at my employer to fax C9 and she took it upon herself to fax over the diagnosis and its been a week and I still don't have a appontment with them. Was my hippa rights violated?

Why does your employer have to do this... typically it is your Primary care physician that does the referrals to a specialist. Unless your Employer IS your primary care physician.

So the nurse AT your employer faxed information about the injury to the specialist you intend to see... is that correct?

Just trying to establish WHO actually has sent and received this info.

Looks like the diagnosis was incorporated into the C9 by reference, so no, your rights were not violated.

You gave permission to the nurse. Case closed.
