K So I know of a person who was put on the sex offender registry for a relationship with a teen who was not quite 18 yet. He served his prison time, and has finished all of his probation, but still remains on the registry. He fathered a child after all of this, and now wants to see her in his life. Is he allowed to fight for this child or is he still under the no being around minors? How would I find out for sure?

There are several levels of sex offender. The levels may also vary by area. ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area. I find it hard to believe that someone convicted of statutory rape of someone not quite 18 would be enjoined from ever being near minors again.

You need to get a transcript of the original trial or talk to his Probation Officer to see what restrictions he may be under. You also want to make sure he is telling the truth about what he was convicted for.

Is the mother of the child fighting to keep him from seeing his child. Has he went to court to get a child visit order from the court.

Well lets see my fk up daughter lives with a sexoffender. I have grandkids that live their.I call the law only to find out that if he not under any probation he can go to bus stops keep kids exc. And he has custy of his 10 year old daughter

No one is being rude, but you are new here and may not understand how this site works. The Law forums are considered "technical forums". This means that answers here need to conform to existing statutes. They are held to a higher standard of accuracy. So when someone makes a statement like "as long as hes not on probation he can pretty much do as he wants", which is not accurate for most sex offenders in most areas, we will question it. You seem to be basing your responses here on what you know from ONE circumstance involving your daughter. You have no idea whether the situation your daughter has applies to the person who asked the question (OP). There are different levels of sex offender as I said, and, as you said, laws vary by area. So responding to the OP, making the statement you did is going to be questioned.

If you cannot cite statutes to back up your response please do not make statements that you can't back up. If you are answering based on your personal experience with one scenario, then state that and state the circumstances so the OP can judge how it applies to their situation. If you can't do that, then please don't respond in the law forums as your response will not be considered helpful.
