I am in desperate need of help this is my first puppy and man oh man I wish I knew the responsibility of a puppy I have been having this problem with her she is now 8 months old on the first of November but the problem is she knows how to sit at the door or run back and forth between my boyfriend and me when she has to go out side so she is good with that now sometimes she will full blown pee somewhere or other times I thought it was just she gets two wound up and happy but she will pee around other dogs and people like companny even if she has known them since she was about 2 months old I don't know what to do and its getting to the point that I am frusterated and confused because she is pretty good at listening but as I said you can take her for a nice log strole before guests come to our home and she will pee on the walk and then as soon as people come in even if I put her in her crate she does it as soon as you let her out any answers please let me know and also how should I go about her chewing wood?? It sounds like nervous peeing to me. When you toilet trained her did you yell, put her nose in her pee, hit, or slap? How did you potty train her?
What do you do when she pees? Do you put her in her crate as punishment? Her crate is supposed to be her cave, her safe place, not a place for a time out, or punishment.
It's tricky training a puppy, and the wrong moves can set you up for disaster.
Have you thought about going to puppy classes, or hiring a trainer?
As for the wood, she's a puppy. She needs to chew. If there's nothing else available, she'll chew on what she can find.

She doesn't go in her cage much and I have never hit or slapped her I have yelled but that was because of me getting so frusterated I try not to yell at her even though sometimes I want to like when she has peed on my bed and if she pees on my bed!

When she pees on my bed I do put her nose in it but other then that I show it to her and tell her no and I can't do puppy training things as I am in school and my boyfriend is always working she is good in her cage when we are gone with her toys and at a point in time she didn't even have to go in her cage when we would leave until she got sick of her toys and bones then out of the blue she started chew chew chew lol goodness I wish I knew what I got myself into I have been looking for another dog but older so she will have someone to play with because she is not around a lot of other dogs and she seems so lonely and if it comes down to it I guess ill be cleanning up accidents forever lol because I wouldn't get rid of her ever no matter how fed up I am! And thank you for answering back because its been on my nerve and I didn't know if it could be medical or just to over exited or what like she does it as soon as someone new comes over she gets right at them and squats over there feet and pees so I was not quiet sure of what to do

How often do you walk her? Also, what breed is she? If you mentioned it already, I'm sorry, I missed it, and I read so many of these posts every day it's hard to remember every detail. ;)
Sticking her nose in her accidents can cause fear, and so can yelling. It may be that she anticipates being yelled at, and pees because of it.
Positive reinforcement is the way to go. This can be corrected, but you have to be patient. Try to remember that a dog is a dog, it doesn't know that peeing in the house is not okay, it doesn't understand your yelling, or having her nose stuck in her own pee.
You have to teach what you want, what you expect, and the more calm you are, the better.
The next time she pees in the house tell her no. Don't yell, but do say it sharply, a good firm "no". Then take her outside immediately. Choose a command word like "potty" or "business" something you'll use every single time. Tell her to "potty" and when she does, go nuts. Tons of praise, lots of love, tummy rubs, a good girl dance, you name it. A treat is also a great way to reward good behavior.
When she chews and you catch her, use the no command again, and than redirect her. Give her a toy she can chew on, and praise for chewing that toy instead of the object that's off limits.
It can take time, and the puppy stage can be very trying, but with patience and love, your puppy will soon be a dog that you can enjoy having in your life.

Black labs are great, I have one of my own, he's 15 1/2 years old. He's also a mix, but mainly lab.
The brindle is probably from a bulldog or other breed with brindle type fur.
Labs are very easy going, and very eager to please. They're also very smart dogs and given the chance they will learn very quickly.
We love pictures. :)

My vet told me when training Owen I could only say No when I actually caught him peeing. If I say No after the fact he thinks he is in trouble for what he was doing at the time I say No.
Also whenever he does his business outside he gets lots of praise, tummy rubs etc. I try to use praise more than no.
