My best friend has been in foster care for a little over 2 yrs. I have heard that she can leave at age 16 if she is not happy with the foster home she is in.

What I have read about it, it all depends on where you live on how old you can stay in foster care till. But you are asking about getting out. I haven't seen anything about getting out before 18, unless the person is emancipated. But that doesn't sound all that great. The person would have to be responsible form their bills and much more. It is an awful lot for someone that young. You many not think that now but when it you are the person holding everything on your shoulders it feels quite differently. You say she isn't happy with the family she was placed with. Has she talked to her social worker and explained things to her? Has your family already agreed to have her stay with you? I don't understand if they have then why they don't just see about becoming her foster parent. That way there will be money given to help with her expenses until she is older and it won't be so much on her or your families shoulders.
