I stopped working two years ago and have recently applied for disability benefits for a physical problem that will never go away. I read online that people are paid from when they quit working until the benefit is actually paid. Will I really be paid for two years of disability? Please let me know your experience if you have dealt with this.

Thanks!

You mean a retroactive payment. After you apply, and get through the hearing process to prove that you actually do have a disability, yes, you can get retroactive payments, but don't see dollar signs yet, because sometimes it takes up to 11 months to get the back payments.

This information is from the website disability secrets.com.

I was in a bad car crash in 19995 that left me blind in my left eye, no perifial vision, my spleen was taken out, and 16 plates and 69 screws in my head. I was placed on disability in 1995 and then taken off or denied disability in 2003. I then reapplied in 2009 and was approved again. My question is would I be entitled to back pay from 2003-2009?
