I have a ceiling fan with a light kit, all controlled via a remote. One night I went to turn on the light with the remote (ceiling fan running) as I have done many times, and one of the light bulbs burned out. I replaced the bulb and now the remote will not operate the lights – they either are on or off as they were before I changed the bulb.
I took apart the unit. I tested the black wire (marked lights) with the 9-prong connector from the unit to the light kit and I have power. When I connect the light kit connector, I do have power to whatever lights were originally on, yet no remote control of the lights. The remote works just fine on just the fan. Could an internal remote receiver for just the lights need replacing? Advice please.
Thanks for any help!
