I'm not trying to conceive but last period I had what I thought was implantation bleeding (it occurred exactly 7 days before my period was due). I then was late for my period but had a very light flow that last 1 1/2 days. I went for a blood test at what would've been 4 weeks and it was negative. I then went for an ultrasound to rule out an ectopic pregnancy because I had spotting a week after the light flow and it came up negative. I now have very sore breasts and my belly is growing. I don't believe that I could be pregnant but there is no other reason for my belly to grow. What else can it be?

You are getting way ahead of yourself when everything came up negative. Your stomach would not be growing yet, so get a grip and think clearly. Your mind is doing this to you my dear. You said you had a late flow, these are symptoms of your menstruation cycle going out of wack. Cool heads prevail sandiecap, and you are haven't got a cool head right now.

Tick is correct.

Maybe it's all the cheeseburgers your eating, because your belly wouldn't start to show yet. Yet? What am I saying, you already got clarification that you are NOT pregnant.

I wouldn't stress out about it.

Sandiecap,

If this would be your first pregnancy you wouldn't see your belly grow until at least 16 weeks, sometimes as late as 20 weeks.

So, don't assume that your belly growing is an indication of pregancy.

You have already had tests, including an ultrasound that has ruled out pregnancy. So what else could be causing the weight gain? Change in diet perhaps? I know I put on a few pounds before winter, could you be doing that too?

Breast tenderness, could be virtually anything hormonal, including premenstrual/postmenstrual symptoms.

Thank you all so much for your replies! I agree that it seems unlikely but my stomach is definitely curved. I'm quite thin and I only have a small belly at the bottom. I already have two children so it wouldn't be that unlikely to "pop out" and my family/friends do see it as well. Diet is an obvious option but I am very healthy and work out 4 times a week so there's no change. I'm not searching for reassurance that I am pregnant because as mentioned, I was not trying to conceive. I am hoping that someone has a similar story with a possible outcome or an idea of what it could be. I did go to the MD and he sees the belly as well but has requested a follow-up in a couple of weeks (he is slightly baffled himself)... in time I know that I will get an answer or my problems will go away but again, just searching for some opinions, support or similar stories... thanks again for everyone's input and I do agree that it does seem unlikely I'm pregnant...
