I watched a movie as a child and would love to find it and watch it again! This movie is an old black and white probably filmed in the 50s or 60s. Three things stick out, 1. It was foggy and seemed to be dusk or night time, 2. One scene there was a person trying to find their wife or husband and had to go down shadowed steps into a cellar type labyrinth with columns that you fear have some ghoul behind them. 3. The most memorable scene in the movie was where a woman is laying on a table with hooded/robed scary guys standing around her chanting-at the same time in another part of this foggy village there was a birthday party going on. The woman on the table was going to be sacificed-and at the birthday party they were slicing the cake. As the ghoul raised the knife and repeated his chants, has he started to plunge to knife down--the next scene was the birthday cake being cut by a similar knife. That's all I can remember. This movie was life changing as I was a little kid when I saw it. I would love to watch it as an adult to see if it has the same affect. I'll pay $20.00 bucks if someone can figure out the name of this scary movie.

The City of the Dead (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053719/)

You can watch the cake scene here: YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kITOank-nSQ&p=BEBCF0AB4993D870&playnext=1&index=3), it starts around 3:10.
