My cats having her first litter this was totally no planned we are deffently getting her fixed... her water broke at 1:10 today and its now 7:02 she hasn't pushed or anything I'm starting to get worried I have experence with kittens and the birthing process just recently had to help a momma in need (friends cat had complactions I got her threw it) I am scared that the babies have died I did feal them move about 4 hours ago I don't anymore she keeps going to odd places and just laying there I have now put her in a good size pet carrier so I can keep an eye on her any advice? I'm good at this but this is my baby girl (my husbands and I first cat together) I don't want to loose her

Do you have an emergency vet clinic nearby or a vet to call?

We've had many cats over the last 25 years and this is said with a lot of compassion... [B]you need to stop worrying[B] and stop worrying her. The only time we have ever had to help any of our cats with their kittens is when the persian gave birth. The vet said that sometimes flat faced cats have trouble cutting the cords so we had to help with that. Part of the reason that she gets up and moves is to help with labor, the other part is that they like to be hidden and left alone. I hope this helps some, Good luck and congratulations.

Like I said it was unplaned and no we do not have a vet becase this wasn't sosposed to happen... she's an indoor cat and there are no male cats in this house... we can not afford a vet... shes a healthy cat... we just got her shots... shes only a year old

And she hasn't been outside at all around the time that she got pregnant...

I wasn't criticizing you. I was simply wondering if there is a vet nearby to call for advice.

Hheath is our site Cat Expert, but she's offline right now. If I remember correctly, she says it takes as much as 24 hours before kittens start appearing. I will check on this site for her posts about that. Hheath advises worried owners to just sit quietly and let Mother Nature take her own time.

Here's a page on cat labor that might help --
