I'm currently on Probation I have until nov 08 until I'm off, now my question is my wife has a (BETTER) Job offer in a different city though in the same state, she has decided to take the job, now will I be allowed to move to this new city, and have my probation transferred, or can my probation officer say no we can't move?

Hello MAD:

Both. It's good that your wife has a job there, but you're going to have to find one there too, and before you make your application. Plus, you need a place to live in the new jurisdiction. If you have all those, apply in writing. If you have followed the rules, you should be allowed to move.

Your probation officer can say whatever (s)he wants. Explain the situation to him/her in full detail. If you have complied with all the terms of your probation thus far them I think it's likely you'll be able to move and get your probation transferred to your new county.

So as you see, your probation officer can say NO, they can say you can't move. And normally they will want to know everything excon mentioned.

But talking with the probation officer is your first stop and seeing what they want and who knows

My friend got in trouble in another state trying to get on a plane. So he is on probation in another state. When he has to be in court or see probation they tell him drive.
