A judgement was awarded against me because I missed the court date. In the letter I received from the court also stated that the costs of the action is to be "taxed" against me. What does this mean? I live in NC and I am trying to sell off my property and as soon as that happens I will pay off my credit card debt but until then I am unable to pay them. I also lost my job and have just begun to draw social security. Please help me.

It's not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's thread. So I moved it to it's own thread.

Why did you miss the court date?

If you have no income or other assets, there is nothing for them to attach. They may place a lien on the property which will have to be paid before you can complete the sale, but you intended to do that anyway.
