Usually you will be ordered to have a policy that includes your child for health insurance. As far as the deductable you will be responsible for 1/2 of the expenses.

As far as the child support goes you can apply for an adjustment if you have lost your job. And then it will change when you get your job next. You will be required to report to the courts as soon as you find another job.

You have to pay the same amount until you go to court and get a modification

Heath insurance is separate from child support, it will be listed separate in the paper work if you are required to provide it. If you lose your job, you may be required to pay for private insurance for thechild

The problem is that judges, who are generally relatively highly paid, and often have health care plans along with that pay, are clueless as far as health care insurance costs are concerned. They fail to appreciate that even two-parent families often do not have the means to pay for health insurance. You would have to ask to get your child support order modified, by persuading the court that you can no longer afford health insurance.

Every state is different. My state requires each parent to cover the child(ren) under a policy provided through their employer as long as the cost to do so does not exceed 5% of their income.

If you have been laid off, you can file to have the amount reduced due to your reduced income. If your health insurance is no longer available or is not cost-effective due to your lack of employment, they will most likely not require it.

The worst they can do is deny your request.
