Can any one tell me where I can get the entire details of how USA tax system works as I have no idea and this is the first time I will be filing tax

What is your visa status (F-1, J-1, L-1, H-1, H-1B)?

Are you married or single? Will you get a W-2 to document for your 2006 income as an employee OR are you considered an independent contractor?

Do you rent an apartment or a house or do you own a home or condo?

How much did you make in 2006?

Answer these questions and I can give you better guidance.
