Yes. You probably need a lawyer for this. While you are at it, consult a spelling teacher. It has been proven that people who can't spell don't make good parents.

The child's mother will need to get the bio fathers permission for the adoption, or fight in court to get his rights taken away.
Is the bio father at all involved in the child's life.
Is there child support

The fact he is not on the birth certficate does not take away his ability to have rights to the child.

So she will need to get an attorney,

So, now that I think about it, when and if OP gets an adoption approved, and she applies for a substitute birth certificate, what will said certificate say about the "father" of the child?

Questions of that nature aside, this (http://masscases.com/cases/sjc/416/416mass205.html) case seems to indicate that such an adoption in Mass. Is do-able.

She was a batter wife and that's how she ended up where she at now! And no he"s not at all involved,no child support, nor did he want to sign the birth certificate

Again you are out of date.
