Recently I was arrested for stealing some merchandise from my employer. The total came up to 1010$ I paid it off, they did not have any evidence of me taking anything I got snitched on by some colleagues who also got caught and arrested as well. It was my stupid mistake to write a confession down since the LPO said they had had video of me. When released from the police station I was not given a court date, no charges, he said they have no video of me doing anything yet but since I have the confession, he will call me back with footage of me or else just get me to do a video confession ( in which I am not going to talk in cause that's what my lawyer said). It has been a week almost 2 weeks since this happened and he has not called me back, is it possible they don't call me if I am not going to be charged? But my question is what would be my convictions, or what would happen to me when and if I go to court, I paid them back what I took.
Its my first offence I am 20 years old. I live in Alberta Canada

I should mention as well this was a wallmart. I really would not want a criminal record since I like to travel.

It can take months for charges to go though, just listen to your attorney

No. You do not have a criminal record unless you're CONVICTED.
