View Full Version : Changing Braeburn 2200 thermostat to Honeywell RTH3100C non-programmable?

I wanted to replace a Braeburn 2200 programmable thermostat with a simpler non-programmable one. I purchased a Honeywell RTH3100C and carefully labelled my wiring, then installed it following the very simple directions. When I put the breaker back on I had fan, A/C, but no heat. The heat pump would go to aux. heat (which I understand is normal) and the fan would run periodically, but the air didn't blow warm. I switched the thermostats back and I had heat again. Am I missing something about the wiring, as it seemed very simple and everything matched up to the terminals fine. Or are these two thermostats not compatible, and if so what can I go with for a very simple non-programmable thermostat to replace the Braeburn? Thank you.
