I'm an experienced driver that got saddled with two grand larceny charges last year for hauling freight I didn't know was stolen. Is there a company that would be sympathetic to my situation and give me a job? I have no moving violatins on my mvr and it's the only crime I've ever been charged with or convicted of. PLEASE HELP!

Hello j:

You're not going to find a job hauling freight... It's like a banker looking for work in a bank after he got caught stealing from one. It AIN'T going to happen. There's a JILLION unemployed truck drivers out there who don't have that millstone around their necks...

You might want to look at this thread here as the issue was recently addressed.

I'm afraid you won't find any major companies that will hire you with a recent felony.

In some cases there may be a time limit, such as ten years since the conviction, where someone could be considered, but even that would depend on a variety of factors.

I would look at perhaps dump trucks, or tow trucks, even repo trucks. Pay less, less benefits for small firms, but they may look past a conviction, but this only a year old, it is going to be tough
