View Full Version : What if there is contradictory information on lease?

The utilities section of the lease has sewer checked under something the landlord shall provide and pay for. Then under other lease providsions they listed "1 - Three car parking 2 - Pay utilities, water bill and sewage bill 3 - no pets"

I never saw this or looked for it, why would they re-state something that is clearly covered in a standard lease... utilities has its own section.

It does appear to be confusing or a contradiction, have you asked the lessor about it? Is the check box area coded to say what a check means?

The answer is that people make mistakes in writing documents. Especially when they copy a previously used document without reading through it carefully.

This may be one of those cases which would be an exception to the "parole evidence rule". One would have to get testimony as to what the parties verbally agreed, instead of just relying upon the written text.
