I was the victim of a hit and run walking down the street, transported by ambulance to the hospital where I spent 5 days . I operated on for two compound fractures in my right leg A metal plate and screws were placed in my leg . Called to get report officer said that there was no debris or evidence I had been hit by a car. That I supposebly just fell down and sustained my injuries I also had stiches in my forehead and was in and out of consciencsness is possible that I could have such injuries by just falling down?

I see Police Reports which are not in agreement with what the injured party and/or witnesses say all the time. Unless the Police Officer knowingly lied on the report, no, you have no case. He reviewed the evidence and came to his own conclusion.

I have no idea if it's possible to have those injuries by "just" falling down. Depends, I suppose, on what you fell off or over.

But, no, you have no case against the Police.

Is there uninsured motorist coverage in your State? What do they say?

I realize you have an ongoing dispute with the Police on another matter (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/criminal-law/how-long-can-cops-keep-property-investgating-before-they-have-return-516710.html#post2567303) When you retain an Attorney for this hit and run, have him look into your impounded property.

You may, at least in all departments I worked in, go in when you are well enough to, and file an admended statement to be attached to your report.

If they have no evidence, no witness to tell them what call, what licence plate number, they are not going to do anything anyway.

They are not going to go to body shops looking for cars with damage, they are not going to go thought he area taking to people.

They write a report, file it away and go on to the next case.
