I am looking to purchase a crane for our company. We have a type of product that weighs approx 40 tons and is generally lifted in various setting in the oilfield. What I want to know is how to determine what capacity of crane would be needed to safely handle the load. A typical lift would consist of placing the load about 20' from the crane itself.
