We have just redone our kitchen with solid oak cabinets (the original cabinets were dark pine). We have dark wood molding and window casing around a window that is in the center of the kitchen with the oak cabinets on either side What would you suggest we do with the dark wood in the kitchen? If the window casing was not the dark wood we could probably just change the window molding to oak, but the actual window casing in dark. Any suggestions? Thanks. Linda

Other than painting the casing it is very difficult to alter the color of stained wood. Compared to the cost of the cabinets the casing is not expensive, I normally replace it with new wood that I can stain to match

You could buy some kitchen utensils and other nik nak's that match your window colour to put on display in your kitchen so it kind of blend's in, or you could try a paint store or decorating outlet for some kind of paint that would cover it to a preferred or at least a colour that look's better. I also suggest you Google interior design ideas to cover dark wood and window casing's and then use the search column in the corner for a more detailed search on ''Ideas for covering dark window casing's to blend in with light kitchen furniture. Just in case your not computer literate you will find Google and other search tool's in internet explorer. I hope I have been of some help to you, I will try and find out some more/better ideas for you and post them online, Good Luck.

If u have casing trim on doorway or archway, paint the window same color as that trim. This will tie everything together.
