Okay I was arrested for underage drinking... I was trying to run away from home... this is the first time I have evr gotten in any trouble with the law... they did not read my my rights or do a breathalizer test to see how drunk I was... they went off what someone else said... what I need to know is could that put me on probabtion until I am 18... I talked to a lot of cops because I have one in the family and a few of my friends parents are cops... they said from what they know and have been through, I should get a warning but no probation... the cops are syaing I threatened them.. which never happened... it wouldn't be the first time a cop has done this to someone here... im trying to move out because my parents hit me which is why I tried to run away in the first place... the cops know this now... the only thing they have on me that is real is drinking... someone said they would have told me if I was being put on probation by now... it's been three days... can someone tell me if this is true...

They can do many things, it will be up to the juv judge if they take you to juv court. Depending on the state and its law, and your age, you can be tried in state court for under age drinking we did it often in GA when we stopped under age drivers who had been drinking.

So this is the deal, NO they don't have to read you any rights just to arrest you, only to question you. If they question you beyond basic questions without reading you your rights the only thing is they can't use that testomony at trial. Does not make the trial or charges invalid.

If you go to Juv or family court many things can happen.

They will look at all of the things happening, it will not be just a trial but a hearing on exactly what is happening to you.

The Juv court and do anything they want with you, once you go before them, they will review home life, parents statement, they will look at your running away from home all together in this, it is not like an adult trail that deals only with the specific charge.

If they went to State court, yes all they can except most likely would be community service or a year or two probation most likely along with a fine, that is what we did in fulton county court all the time, a lot of working in homeless shelter for 40 or more hours

But once it goes into juv court they look at the welfare of the child, and can do anything they want if they believe it is for the child's good.

3. other diversion program
4. probation
5. fine
6. probation and fine
7. warning and sent home with parents

Juv court is just that, once they get invoved they may want to investigate your parents hitting you, abuse at your home, before they determine what happens to you.

Okay... another question... I live in Missouri... people have told me they have only gotten warnings for their first arrest over underage drinking... for that charge alone and from what I told you would they give me a warning... if I was getting put on probation would they have already said somethng to me about it?

If you were going to be put on probation they were have done it already. So you may not be on probation.

Hey... I am Drinking underage girl... I currently 14 year old, I has been drinking since I was 8 year old and I got lots trouble with Polices... They just sent me to Mental health hospital because I attempt the suicide and run away all times.

When polices saw me drinking alcohols and I black out. They took me to hospital and I was at Coma for 4 days...

Then when I better they put me to Foster Care family.

I stopped Drinking alcohols now because my Foster Care family are Awesome :)

I got arrested a month ago and I'm still waiting for a court date... im looking for any kind of petition I can fill out to possibly drop all charges because this makes the second time... however the first time I got caught I was put on an informal probation and I have to go to a drug and alcohol group till the end of August..
