I was just informed by a county clerk that my child support order is only a temporary order and that there isn't an actual judgement against me. This is news to me since my son is now 14 going on 15. Besides his legal last name being in question (neither mine or his mothers last name is given to him in the file, just his first name) does this mean that everything pertaining to this "temporary order" can now be tossed aside?

A temporary order IS a judgement. Its just not permanent. When a permanent order is in place then it can only be changed for certain reasons and also no sooner then every 2 years in Calif. A teporary order could be amended or contested at any time. Many restraining orders have child support addressed as part of the order as well as custody in none exist.
