Hello, I’m 22 and have a history of irregular periods. My ob-gyn recently prescribed prometrium as a means of regulating my cycle, and so far it's worked. My and my boyfriend of 7 years have always used the withdrawal method without any pregnancies; but recently he was a little delayed in "pulling out;" although it appeared that he did so just in time. I know everyone says that the withdrawal method is not effective, but so far it has worked for me. Do you think that the withdrawal method will stop working because my period has recently been regulated? Should I be worried?

Here is how it works. Okay, women become lubricated when aroused. Well, men do too, however, it is within the penis that the lubrication takes place.

Within that lubrication there are millions of sperm, prior to ejaculation there is pre-ejaculate, a man does not feel when this is happening, it just happens.

It could be that you or he are not fertile, but withdrawal is the luck of the draw. Or just like playing Russian Roulette if you are not ready for the responsibility of parenthood.

So, to answer your last question, yes you should be worried.

Thanks for the reply. Well I know that we are both fertile because I have been pregnant before. Which resulted in a miscarriage, we were not however using any birth control, including the withdrawal method. But for about 5 years now, it (withdrawal) has proven to work, I guess my luck could/will run out shortly.
