We bought our home this summer and had the septic drained, "just in case" and we were glad we did! They said it was full! It was pumped just one month ago and then today I started having problems with the drains. I was doing laundry and I noticed while doing dishes the water was not going down the sink. I started looking around to investigate and found that water had backed up into the tub and was also coming back up the sink. Apparently earlier in the day when I took my shower, it caused a real problem because there was water from the pipes all over the floor.

I keep wondering about your drain field. This could be a simple blockage but before we start tearing into things let's see if we c an localize the source.
Do this. Locate the house clean out leading to the septic tank.
OPen it up and cycle a the washer through the wash cycle. Did any water back up out of the clean out, Let me know and we'll start to clear it up. Regards, b Tom

There was a clog between the pipe leaving the house and the septic tank lid spot. Whew! That was scary! As soon as we broke the clog through, WHOOSH! The poop started flowing!
