Can you get pregnant having sex during your period? If so, how would you know your pregnant if your period continues?

While highly unlikely, you would know when you don't have your next period

It is not the norm, but it can happen. Here is why:
Most women will ovulate about midway through a cycle. Some, however, will naturally ovulate sooner than this and some later. Sometimes too a woman may ovulate at an off time from her own norm (doesn't happen often, but it can). This is why no time can be considered 100% safe, even with birth control. Just that some times are "safer" than others.
During your period, which is your body's way of getting rid of the lining of the uterus that was built up to support a pregnancy, your body may also already be preparing for the next ovulation. Again, this isn't the norm as the hormones associated with your period are not at levels to promote ovulation. Or it can happen right as your period is ending. Sperm can survive in this sort of condition sometimes for several days. If they are present when you release an egg, pregnancy can happen.
You usually wouldn't know you are pregnant until the next period is due. Usually it will either not show at all or be different from your norm.
Always use protection to lessen the odds of an unplanned pregnancy.
