Hi AZ

Yes it is hard some time that the handle will come off easy, Don't be afraid try to jiggle it, try to tap it with the screw driver handle if that would not work spray some WD-40 in to the screw hole let it soak for a few minutes and try hope it will come off, good luck.

Yes, I did it. It was not easy from the beginning, but I did it. The handle sit on a plastic valve, and very often it is very tight fitting. I was afraid to use any screw driver to put against handle without ruining it, but you could wrap screw driver with paper towel, towel, etc. I just tried to pull it put as hard as I could, holding the whole faucet by the other hand. Finally it came out.
Good luck. You can try WD-40, but I do not think it will help much since the top of the valve is plastic.
