I was convicted of felonous possession with intent to sell and deliver of approximately 1/2 pound of marijuana in 1973. My sentence was 5 years probation. I was not sent to prison.

Subsequently 40 years later I am the ednucational director for national organization for multiple states, president of multiple organizations, VP of two separate corporations, etc. Turned my life around completely. Unfortunately hard to "undo" bad mistakes.

Are you aware of legal channels available to cleanse my record, and if not, are there channels available to travel freely internationally and purchase and own firearms? I am considering a circum navigation of the globe and need answers.

YOu need to first go see a criminal attorney who can handle either your expungement or pardon from your felony. It will take some time - around a year start to finish is not unheard of to resolve your problem.

Apparently no one bothered doing a thorough background check on you for your present position.

Yes, the legal channel is called an Attorney.

Appears to be two different issues.

For the first, you would need to look at the visa requirements for each country you desire to visit, as well as what if any, restrictions this country has on the issuance of a passport.

For the second, it would turn upon the wording of the state and federal firearms statutes. Why do you need a firearm to make your world tour?

Even if you get a pardon, you can't take guns on your boat into MOST countries in the world. Doing so will get you shot at best, or jailed at worst.

Yes, I realize the NEED for guns, but you'll have to throw rocks at your prospective boat thieves.

PS> So, you're the "ednucational" director, huh? I cood do that...
