I have an oval 15 x 30 above ground pool. It is custom in that it goes from 4 feet to 7 feet deep. I would like to remove it, fill the whole and make the back yard bigger and ready for the house to go up for sale. Can I do the removal on my own? What am I looking at to hire someone $$ wise? Has anyone done this before? I know the hole needs to be filled/packed/filled to make it sound and ready for sodding... Handy chic needs some advice please :)

You can do this and likely get a good penny from an aluminium recycler. You could hire a handyman or even a kid to take it down, its just nuts and bolts once the liner is out. Dump it as dry as you can and remove the liner first. I did my a few years ago and got $75 for the metall. I paid contractor to back fill and compact the hole and then spread 3 yards of top soil before seeding. In less than a year it looked like it was never there, actually the new grass was nicer than the rest of the lawn.
