Let me start my saying my landlord is a slumlord who hasent took care of this building for about the 2 years that he's owned it I've lived here for 12 years with my wife n my 5 year old me and my wife are expecting baby boy in the next week.I've recently lossed my job so I owe him about 2 grand my aprtment was infested with rodents and bedbugs I've made numerouse complaints n he's still yet to resolve the problem.he also has numerous violations to this apartment which inspectors r coming this weekend to inspect the apartment over the last 2 years we've spent one thousand in repairs.. me n my wife has been going back n forth to court because he wants the apartment.. he said he's willing to make an offer for us to move out but I'm not sure how much should I ask for his offer started @ 10 thousand.

Let me see. You owe HIM $2 grand, and he's offering you $10 grand to MOVE... I'd take his money and NEVER look back...

But, somehow, I don't believe what you're saying... I've NEVER owed people money which I couldn't pay back, and had them offer me MORE. Nope. That never happened to me.

The only way this makes sense to me is that the slumlord is in serious trouble with the authorities and he wants these witnesses to disappear and never be heard of again.

I agree, if you were so far behind in payments, he could just evict you to get rid of you.

And why after all these years of such a bad place you put money to fix things and did not just move.

But if he has offered you 10,000, get it in cash and run
