I am wiring my basement and am installing a porch light out of the walk-out basement door. At the door I was going to have switches for the lights in the room and the porch light. Can the interior lights and exterior porch light be on the same circuit? There is no overhang over the exterior light so it is exposed.
Thanks.

Agree on both counts. Just make sure porch light is water proof and grounded

Fixture only needs to be rated for Damp Location, waterproof not needed.

TK,
Since there is no overhang above this light shouldn't this light be a waterproof type light. This not a damp location it is a wet location.

Yes I agree, wet location, sorry I missed that statement. Still not waterproof.
