I'm horrible at beginning a essay and we have to write one about LA. Its supposed to be about an experience in LA and I chose one with my friends when we went to Santa Monica Pier at 8 in the morning on a Saturday. My teacher wants us to make it VERY detailed and use all our senses to describe it. Please help someone I don't know where to start.

Have you studied how to write an essay? Did you talk about a thesis statement and the introductory paragraph?
Think about what you smelled, tasted, heard, saw, and felt when you were on the pier early that morning. Was it raining, or was the sun shining? Did you smell fish or salt water or food smells? What were you wearing? Were you excited or scared or bored?
If I were you, I'd make a chart. The top row would be five sections listing each sense. The column under each sense would be words and phrases that detailed those senses and give concrete examples.
