You have a rental agreement, it is verbal, so at this point you are in a month to month rental. Assuming you never had one to start with and are only asking for a copy of it?
But was there an agreement to have one ? Are they living up to the terms at this point. Was it a lease for more than month to month ?

I have merged your posts, please do not start more than one thread, merely "answer" the post to add more info
If you signed a lease, then call it a lease, a lease normally denotes a longer period 1 year or more, a rental agreement, normally denotes a month to month relationship.
You needed to get or keep a copy at the time you signed it.
If you have your lease, it will be binding on the new owners in a short sale.
